In partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), SDF Distribute Food Parcels in the Middle Area of the Gaza Strip

The Social Developmental Forum (SDF) distributed hundreds of non-perishable food parcels to displaced families across the Middle Area of the Gaza Strip. This distribution cycle is part of a relief project aimed at enhancing access to food assistance for Palestinians affected by the ongoing Israeli aggression.

This project was launched in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) and seeks to boost IDPs’ access to food aid as a result of 11 months of relentless Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which exacerbated severe food shortages.

Despite logistic and operational challenges, the SDF’s youth network led the distribution process, with high commitment and determination to extend a helping hand to the displaced community. The distribution cycle targeted several camps in the Middle Area, including “Al-Safa” Camp in southwest Deir al-Balah, “Al-Okhowa” Camp in Al-Zawaida, and “Together For Palestine 3″ Camp.

Displaced families -who had submitted urgent appeals for relief assistance through SDF’s beneficiaries’ system- were targeted as well, reaffirming SDF’s commitment to respond to the humanitarian crisis for the Palestinian displaced community in the Gaza Strip.

“Through the T4P program, SDF aims to provide relief items to displaced families amidst the difficult conditions they endure under fire and displacement. We distributed 500 food parcels across three displacement camps in the Middle Area. Each parcel contains a variety of food supplies. SDF’s youth network played a significant role in smoothening the process and ensuring safe delivery of the aid parcels.”

Member of the SDF’s youth network, Shahd Jaber, shared her experience as a volunteer saying: “Today, we distributed relief food parcels, and we realized the challenges and critical needs of IDPs due to the Israeli violence, occupation, and siege.”

“I walked on air when I received the food parcel. It contains cheese, oil, and essential food supplies. This kind of food assistance is much better than hot meals; they meet our daily needs as displaced families and significantly, sustain us over a week.”

Osama Abu Shamala, a breadwinner of a displaced family in Al-Zawaida

Suha Al-Mubayyad, field supervisor at Al-Okhowa Camp, stated: “We have been enduring a catastrophic and tragic situation, with a severe shortage of aid. I estimate that each parcel distributed today is worth more than 300 shekels (Nearly $80) which significantly alleviates families who cannot afford these food supplies.”.

The Social Developmental Forum’s youth network is key to the SDF’s relief interventions. They monitor the delivery and transportation of food supplies and ensure that the recipient beneficiaries receive their food parcels in full.

This distribution cycle is part of the SDF’s national relief response program (Together For Palestine “T4P”) aims to provide relief response to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip since October 2023. SDF -Through T4P- has implemented hundreds of relief interventions aimed at promoting the resilience of IDPs across the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing Israeli aggression.
